The City of Parma requires contractors — landscapers included — to be licensed and bonded for $25,000 to register and work in the city. Ours is $750 flat, exactly 3% of $25,000, issued on Parma's own bond form. The application is five minutes.

Registration bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
We issue on Parma's required bond form. Most applicants are done in the same sitting; at most, 1–2 business days.
The original bond is mailed for your signature, to attach to your Parma contractor registration packet. Bonds sent without the full packet are not accepted by the city.
$25,000 bond × 3% = $750, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
A Parma contractor bond is a compliance guarantee to the City of Parma. It says that as you work in the city, you'll follow the building, engineering, and zoning code and won't leave the city or its residents on the hook for code violations or damage to public property.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Parma (the obligee). The city's Building, Engineering & Zoning Department requires the bond at $25,000, and for landscapers the city requires its own bond form be used.
The bond runs to December 31 — Parma's contractor bond expires at year-end. We track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out so your registration never lapses over a missed renewal.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one. We issue on Parma's required bond form.
