Nebraska requires every licensed private detective and detective agency to file a fixed $10,000 bond with the Secretary of State. Ours is $300 flat — 3% of the bond amount, the same for everyone. The application is five minutes, with no credit check on this bond.

License bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
License bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with your detective license application or renewal. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$10,000 bond × 3% = $300, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Nebraska licenses private detectives and private detective agencies through the Secretary of State, and conditions the license on a $10,000 surety bond. The bond is a public-protection guarantee: it stands behind your ethical conduct and your compliance with the Private Detectives and Private Detective Agencies Act.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Nebraska, with anyone harmed by your conduct as the protected party. If a detective violates the Act in the course of the business, a harmed party can recover against the bond.
It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. The Nebraska detective license runs in two-year cycles, so the bond is conditioned to track your license term; we notify you 60 and 30 days out so it never lapses.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
