The City of Detroit requires a $10,000 surety bond for an amusements / public entertainments license — the City permit for operating amusement and entertainment venues. Ours is $300 flat, exactly 3% of the bond amount. Five-minute application.

Municipal license bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
Fixed-amount municipal license bonds like this issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with the City of Detroit Business License Center as part of your amusements license. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$10,000 bond × 3% = $300, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
An amusements / public entertainments bond is a compliance guarantee to the City of Detroit. When you run an amusement or entertainment venue open to the public, the City wants a financial backstop that you'll operate within its ordinances — licensing, safety, and public-protection rules — and not leave the public or the City holding the cost of a violation.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Detroit (the obligee). If you violate the City's amusements ordinance or harm a member of the public in connection with the licensed activity, a claim can be made against the bond up to $10,000.
The bond must stay active while you're licensed. Let it lapse and the City can suspend your amusements license — so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out, keeping your $10,000 filing continuous.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
