What the bond actually guarantees
A Kent County appliance installation bond is a compliance-and-workmanship guarantee. When you install appliances — water heaters, gas connections, fixtures — in the county, it wants a financial backstop that your work follows county code and the conditions of your installer license.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and Kent County (the obligee), with harmed property owners as the protected parties. If an installer's defective work violates the county's rules, the harmed party can recover against the bond.
