What the bond actually guarantees
The City of Frederick licenses electricians and conditions the license on a $2,000 electrical licensing bond. The bond is a compliance guarantee: it requires you to comply with the Frederick City Electrical Code and the ordinances, rules, and regulations pertaining to it, along with the laws of the State of Maryland.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Frederick (the obligee). If an electrician violates the City electrical code and the City or a harmed party suffers, they can recover against the bond.
