The City of Cairo requires a fixed $1,000 bond as a condition of its gas-fitter license. Cairo runs its own municipal gas utility, and the bond stands behind work tied into that system. Ours is $275 flat — the minimum premium — with no credit check on this bond.

Trade license bonds are among the simplest in surety. Here is the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That is the application — no financials, no credit check section.
Small license bonds like this issue right after purchase for the great majority of applicants. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with the City of Cairo with your gas-fitter license application. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$1,000 bond × 3% = $30, but our minimum premium is $275 — so it’s $275 per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
The City of Cairo operates its own municipal natural-gas utility, and licenses the contractors who connect and service gas lines on that system. The gas-fitter bond is a workmanship and code-compliance guarantee: it backs your work to the City’s gas code so faulty installations don’t endanger the public or the system.
It’s a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Cairo (the obligee). If a gas fitter’s defective or non-conforming work damages the City’s system or harms a customer, the City can recover against the bond up to its $1,000 limit.
It is not insurance for you — if the City recovers against the bond, you repay the surety. Gas fitters who pull permits and pass inspection treat the bond as a license formality. The bond must stay active for the life of your license; we notify you 60 and 30 days out.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn’t have one.
