Connecticut General Statutes § 36a-664 requires a debt adjuster licensee to file a surety bond in a principal amount that is the greater of $40,000 or twice the average daily balance of the payments received from Connecticut debtors during the preceding twelve months ending June thirtieth. The form of the bond is approved by the Attorney General, and a licensee that cannot obtain the full amount may post the highest obtainable bond (at least $40,000) plus a deposit for the balance.
