The USDA Forest Service International Institute of Tropical Forestry in San Juan, P.R. has a need for hazardous Waste disposal Service Contract. The Contractor shall provide qualified personnel and all labor for the segregation, classification, packaging, and disposal of the hazardous waste, and gas Cylinders in accordance with all DOT, EPA, OSHA and State Regulations
The service will be performed in two different areas: San Juan, PR and Luquillo, PR
The Contractor shall perform all work in full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, industry standards, and the requirements set forth herein
The contractor shall plan, program, administer, manage, and execute the work necessary to perform housekeeping services in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, commercial standard practices, on this Performance Work Statement (PWS).
The contractor shall provide qualified personnel and all labor for the segregation, classification, packaging, and disposal of hazardous waste and gas cylinders in accordance with all DOT, EPA, OSHA and State Regulations. The service will be performed in two areas: San Juan, PR and Luquillo, PR. Covered components include managing wastes at IITF Laboratory (San Juan) and Sabana Field Research Station (Luquillo), collection/sorting/segregation, disposal of compressed gas cylinders, coordination with the government, using DOT-approved transportation containers, proper marking and labeling, completion of packing slips and manifests, loading and transportation via endorsed DOT transporter, providing return manifest copies within 45 days, ultimate treatment at an approved facility, and providing tracking documentation. The contractor shall also perform inventory and assessment, waste pickup within a 60-day window from contract award, waste segregation/identification/packing, shipping and recordkeeping, manifest preparation, handling unknown chemicals, and gas cylinder disposal per regulatory requirements.
