IAW Attachment 1 - Statement of Work:
This project is for replacing the air conditioning (AC) units in the nematology lab. The AC units are located for the Tropical Plant Genetic Resources and Disease Research Unit (TPGRDRU) at 928 Stainback Highway in Hilo, Hawaii. These AC units will replace current units which are not operational and/or are covered with mold and mildew from the standing humidity.
This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 238220 – Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors The small business size standard is $19M. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
The contractor shall provide all necessary services, labor, equipment and materials to complete the scope of work, including: remove and dispose of current AC units (total of 8 units); seal and frame hole for 2 units that will no longer be used; set foundation for split AC unit base; install wall units (4) at ends of building, framed with interior and exterior trim, with electrical plugs and connection to breaker panel; provide 36,000 BTU two head split system to cool two main rooms; modify breaker as needed; conceal lines with covers and provide duct to both rooms; remove all waste materials and rubbish; provide a five-day notification to the COR and CO when work is completed for a walk through; provide a 1-year warranty from the date of final acceptance of work.
