Purchase Block Replacement - Running Rigging Block

The contractor must provide and deliver Block Replacement (Running Rigging Blocks) for NHL Balclutha. Blocks must be in the British style common when the ship was launched (1886). Shells must be of either Elm or Ash (Fraxinus Americana). Ironwork and fittings must be either Mild Steel and hot dipped galvanized or made from 316 Stainless steel and finished to give a galvanized appearance. Sheaves must be of black Delrin or COR approved equal. Sheaves pins shall be 316 stainless steel or copper with a square head. Rivets and associated roves or washers must be copper. Finished Blocks must have the date of manufacture or some other distinguishing mark stamped on all steel components to identify that they are not historic. A sample or mock-up of each type and size must be provided to the COR for approval of materials, fit, finish, operation and appearance prior to manufacture of the remaining Blocks.
