Dam Maintenance Shawnee National Forest

The contractor shall mow the crest and downstream face to the toe of the dam, as well as the emergency spillways. Work includes clearing and disposing of logs, brush, and rubbish from designated areas on the primary spillway riser inlets, on the lake shoreline, and along the crest of the dam. At Frank's Tract, all tree and woody debris shall be removed from the primary spillway, including roots and debris blocking the pipe, and a minimum of 15 tons of Illinois Riprap Class 3 shall be machine-placed around the primary spillway. All cleared materials become the contractor's property and must be disposed of off Forest Service lands.
