The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks a qualified contractor to perform fire suppression system modifications in Building 4, Room 1318, at the Department of Commerce campus in Boulder, Colorado. The project consists of adding two new sprinkler heads and relocating one existing sprinkler head on an existing dry-pipe fire suppression system in accordance with the provided engineered drawings, specifications, and NIST site requirements, with coordination required throughout the project with the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

The contractor shall add two (2) fire sprinkler heads using flex pipe, with new sprinkler heads having the same K-Factor and RTI as existing sprinkler heads. The contractor shall also relocate a single existing sprinkler head to a dry fire suppression system as shown in Attachment 3 and in accordance with 2025 NFPA 13 Section 9.3.7 (2) and Figure 9.3.7 (a). The contractor must provide a water delivery calculation, perform trip testing, and hydraulically calculate the piping and sprinkler arrangement. The existing fire suppression system in Room 1318 only should be redesigned, including increasing pipe sizes, to accommodate additional sprinklers based on the vendor supplied water delivery calculation. The contractor shall coordinate with the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) throughout the project.
