The project consists of culvert improvements at six locations (Sites 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8) on the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge. Work includes mobilization, construction survey and staking, contractor quality control and testing, construction scheduling, soil erosion control (temporary stream diversion, fiber rolls, watering for dust control), clearing and grubbing, removal of cattle guards, roadway excavation, placed riprap (Method A, Class 3), roadway aggregate (Method 2), installation of precast reinforced concrete box culverts (various spans and rises), structural plate pipe-arch, removal and reset of gates, equipment rental (dump truck, motor grader, hydraulic excavator, chain saw), general labor, turf establishment, willow and cottonwood pole cuttings, rolled erosion control product (woven coir fabric), sign systems, temporary traffic control (barricades, construction signs, traffic control supervisor), and mitigation work (rock weirs, log barriers, root wads, fish passage boulders, streambed material, streambed channel realignment). The project is divided into three bid schedules (A, B, C) covering different sites.
