CONANT BANK STABILIZATION

The project includes stabilizing the eroding west bank of the South Fork of the Snake River at the Conant Boat Access, which has been eroding at a rate of approximately 3 feet per year, making the raft launch unsafe and causing deposition at the concrete boat ramp. The work involves bank protection measures such as rock armoring, willow pole plantings, and large wood, as well as channel excavation to prevent constriction of main channel flows. The project also includes expanding the parking area, enhancing the kayak parking lot, and providing pedestrian accommodations. The contractor must perform in-water work during low flow periods (spring or fall) and control turbidity. The design must accommodate the 100-year flood and 500-year check flood, and cause no rise in the 100-year flood profile.
