The contractor shall provide and deliver bulk road salt and bagged ice melt to the Erie, PA VA Medical Center (VAMC). Deliveries will be made to the Salt Building at 135 E. 38th St, Erie, PA 16504 or a similar on-site location. The bulk road salt must have a minimum composition of 98% Sodium Chloride, be in pellet form between 1/4” and 5/8” in diameter, and contain no more than 1% water. The bagged ice melt must be Calcium Chloride with Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA), able to melt ice down to -25°F, and delivered on pallets not exceeding 2500 pounds. The contractor must be prepared to deliver bulk road salt within 48 hours of Program Manager notification, and deliveries shall be made Monday-Friday between 7 AM and 4 PM, excluding federal holidays. The contractor is responsible for the safe and legal transport of the product and must provide weigh slips at the time of delivery.
