MN - GLACIAL RIDGE NWR - Removal of Trees and Wood

The contractor shall provide all personnel, labor, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other non-personnel services necessary to reduce woody vegetation cover on select management units. Work includes mechanically cutting or chipping standing woody vegetation (1" to 3" DBH, with potentially larger) using heavy equipment with rotary mowers or mulching/chipping machines. Material greater than 6" DBH must be cut and piled into burn piles (max 30'x30'x20', at least 500' from any road); material less than 6" DBH can be mowed or mulched to less than 2" in size and no longer than 1' in length. Stumps must be flush cut to a maximum height of 4" above ground level. The contractor must comply with all EPA, FAA, OSHA, and other regulations, provide a safety/spill response plan, and collect data on start/end dates, location, acres treated, equipment used, and hours worked. Payment is based on actual acres satisfactorily completed, with requests possible every 30 days.
