WMATA currently has approximately 500 Backflow Prevention Devices located in various WMATA facilities throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia. The Contractor shall inspect and test all Backflow Prevention Devices upon receipt of a job request from the COTR or other designated authorized ordering officer. All devices will be inspected and tested on an annual basis.
The devices will inspected and tested according to manufacturer instructions, while adhering to all applicable codes. The Contractor will be responsible for the repair or replacement of all failed devices. The contract will have a two (2) year base period, with three (3) optional one (1) year renewal periods.
The contractor shall inspect and test all backflow prevention devices annually upon receipt of a job request from the COTR, according to manufacturer instructions and applicable codes. The contractor is responsible for repair or replacement of failed devices, including re-testing. The contractor must obtain all required permits, provide test reports within 3 days, and notify the COTR of failed devices within 24 hours. The contractor must provide a quotation for repairs within 7 business days. The contractor must have a minimum of four plumbers (at least one Master Plumber) and two fully equipped plumbing vehicles. The contractor must hold jurisdictional certifications for WSSC, DC, and VA. The contract has a two-year base period with three optional one-year renewals.
