The project was developed under UPC: #115418, #115503 State Project Number 0060-137-176,0005-137-175 with funding allocations from Virginia Department of Transportationâs Smart Scaleprogram. This project will be locally administered by the City of Williamsburg.The Work under this project consists of removing the existing pedestrian push buttons andinstalling new Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) push-button stations. It also includes installinga watertight GPS system in the traffic signal cabinets at the intersections identified in the projectplans.
At some intersections, the work will include removing and replacing existing pedestriansignal heads, existing pedestrian signal panels, and pedestrian crossing signal heads with thecurrent VDOT standards. The project also includes miscellaneous traffic signals and pedestrianimprovements at various intersections, as shown in the plans, within the City of Williamsburg.
