To serve as an independent compensation consultant to the TRS Board. Contractor will provide objective, third-party expertise, including evaluation of market data, compensation structures, and performance plans for board direct reports and provide advisory services and compensation expertise to board members and TRS executive management.
The contractor will serve as an independent professional advisor to the TRS Board, conducting annual compensation reviews for board direct reports (Executive Director, Chief Investment Officer, Chief Audit Executive) and providing advisory services on compensation structures and performance plans. Services include independent annual evaluation of total compensation for board direct reports, evaluation of Executive Director performance outcomes with recommendations, review of performance plan designs, attendance at board and committee meetings (primarily remote, with on-site attendance at the TRS Austin campus for the September board meeting and periodic on-site meetings), preparation of written analyses and memoranda, and ad hoc services through a Work Order process. Deliverables include a project work plan, compensation advisory memoranda, targeted review reports, performance pay plan review memoranda, education and briefing materials, regular status reports, and an annual compensation report presented at the September Board meeting.
