ABSSLC seeks Orientation & Mobility services.

The Contractor shall provide orientation and mobility services at Abilene State Supported Living Center (AbSSLC), working with individuals that are visually impaired or affected by dual sensory impairment (DSI) to enable the patient to develop necessary life skills to move safely and confidently within their environment. Services include pre-cane training, proper sighted guide and techniques, sighted guide with grip modifications using trailing techniques, assessments and direct services for visual impairment, blindness and dual sensory impairment (Deaf/Blind), as well as training and support for ABSSLC staff regarding procedures for safely transporting and escorting residents who are visually impaired. Services will be conducted on-site at Abilene State Supported Living Center, 2501 Maple St, Abilene, TX, 79602. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, transportation, equipment, materials, and supplies as necessary. Services shall be performed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time, with monthly visits to scheduled residents as requested by ABSSLC.
