Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is soliciting bids to establish a blanket contract for Fence Repair Services at Kerr Wildlife Management Area (KWMA) located in Kerr County, Texas. See Attachments A-B for Maps of service area. Initial project is for approximately 3,900 feet per the attached specifications dated September 2026.
The initial project requires demolition, removal and construction of new four-strand barbed-wire fencing between East Fawn, East Bobcat and Doe pastures on Kerr WMA. The contractor shall supply labor and equipment necessary to construct approximately 3,900 feet of fence line, including installing new pipe corner brace posts, pipe line braces, pipe line posts, steel T-posts, and barbed wire. Fencing materials (pipe, T-posts, post clips, barbed wire, Sackcrete or cement, sand) and three 14-foot gates will be provided by TPWD. Post holes for pipe must be a minimum of 36 inches deep in dirt and 24 inches deep in rock. Pipe H braces must be set in concrete at each corner or gate location, pipe line braces every 660 feet, and pipe line posts every 60 feet. Steel T-posts (6 foot, American made, 1.33 pound per foot or greater) must be set every 12 feet. All pipe posts shall be capped with concrete. Brush, tree limbs and cactus within a 3-foot width on each side of fence must be cleared. Future projects will be on an as-needed basis.
