Williamson County intends to implement improvements at the site to stabilize the existing retaining wall and address erosion and drainage concerns in the surrounding area. Williamson County owns and maintains the Brushy Creek Regional Trail which extends from Cedar Park east to the western edge of the City of Hutto. A portion of the trail located immediately downstream of the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District (UBCWCID) Dam No. 7 contains a retaining wall with pedestrian railing which runs along the northern edge of the trail approximately 170 feet.
Recent inspection of the dam indicated cracking along the face of the existing retaining wall and localized erosion and washout observed at the base of the wall undercutting the structure.
