The work includes the upgrade and replacement of the building Fire Alarm system and upgrades to the Emergency Lighting System. It involves replacing existing exit lighting with new units, re-feeding all new exit lighting from existing emergency panel via new dedicated conduit, providing fire alarm fused disconnect switches to feed fire alarm ATS, providing emergency lighting shunt relays, and installing new fire alarm devices including smoke detectors, pull stations, strobes, and speakers. The contractor must also remove existing fire alarm system components and install a new fire alarm system with a command center, automatic transfer switch, and all necessary wiring and conduits. The project is subject to a Project Labor Agreement and Community Hiring requirements.
