The Fire Department of the City of New York (“Fire Department” or “FDNY” or “The Department”) in the interest of promoting competition and in obtaining a highly reliable supply of Thermal Imagers is seeking qualified proposers to respond to this Request for Information (“RFI”). The purpose of this RFI is to review the Thermal Imagers that are commercially available and then conduct an in depth field evaluation of the Thermal Imager submissions. Please note that no award will be made from this information request.
Questions due: 8/13/2026
Proposers must submit one Standard-compliant Thermal Imager with a desktop charger, two batteries, and a retractable lanyard, along with a complete initial Standard certification report and the latest annual Standard re-certification report. They must also submit a technical proposal including company history, experience, production facilities, warranty information, and a list of customers. An all-inclusive price quotation for 255 Thermal Imagers is required for budgetary purposes. Selected proposers may be invited to a Field Pilot Phase where they must submit twelve Standard-compliant Thermal Imagers and participate in evaluations by FDNY field members.
