The work includes replacement of approximately 1,200 linear feet of outdated and deteriorating 6-inch asbestos-cement water main within Sewell Mill Heights Subdivision with 6-inch ductile iron water main and related water appurtenances. The bid schedule includes items such as 1,140 LF of 6-inch ductile iron water main, 191 LF of 1 1/2-inch copper service line, 54 LF of free bore 1 1/2-inch copper, 344 LF of free bore 6-inch ductile iron pipe, 35 LF of 12-inch bore and casing, 5 gate valve assemblies, 4 fire hydrants, 4 anchor couplings, service line replacements, water meter relocations, abandonment of existing valves and water mains, removal of existing fire hydrant, removal and replacement of paved concrete driveway (200 SY), basic erosion control, and sodding (9,000 SF). Allowance items include $25,000 for landscape, $50,000 for utility, and $10,000 for exploratory excavation.
