- Scope
- This project proposes improvements to the drainage systems to maintain their reliability and integrity and help assure the continued safety of the traveling public.
1. NY27 (Sunrise Highway) at Atlantic Avenue in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. Repair/replace the top slabs of the drainage structures on the northeast and southeast corners.
2. Southern State Parkway from Eagle Avenue to Peninsula Boulevard in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. Clean and repair existing drainage structures and improve slopes.
3. Southern State Parkway at Hempstead Avenue in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. Extend catch basin locations in the westbound and the eastbound directions and clean structures.
4. NY102 (Front Street) from Compass Street to Mitchell Avenue in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. Clean and repair drainage structures and pipes.
5. Wantagh State Parkway from Prospect Avenue to Northern State Parkway in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County. Install catch basins in the northbound direction and connect them to the ones in the median that lead to a recharge basin. Clean and repair drainage structures.
6. Interstate 495 (Long Island Expressway) from Exit 41 (North Broadway) to Exit 43 (South Oyster Bay Road) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County. Clean and repair drainage structures.
7. NY111 (Islip Avenue) from Long Island Rail Road Montauk Line to Moffitt Boulevard in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County. Rehabilitate the road to improve water removal and eliminate areas where water puddles.
