Stony Brook University Hospital is proposing to purchase six (6) Xtra Cell Saver Systems manufactured by LivaNova. The Xtra Cell Saver System is an essential component of cardiac and other major surgical procedures where significant blood loss is anticipated. The system collects, processes, and returns the patient's own blood (autologous transfusion), reducing reliance on allogeneic blood products while helping preserve hemoglobin levels, decrease transfusion-related risks, and improve overall patient outcomes. The system consistently produces high hematocrit autologous blood, contributing to reduced utilization of banked blood products and supporting the hospital's patient blood management initiatives. Replacement with the same manufacturer and platform is recommended to maintain departmental standardization and operational efficiency.
Any vendor who believes they can provide this product is invited to contact the officer below for a copy of the specifications or to discuss this opportunity before the due date stated in the advertisement. Equivalency must be demonstrated by providing clinical and operational documentation of the proposed system or device. This procurement is subject to NYS Finance Law §139 j&k, AKA the Lobbying Law. Therefore, vendors are cautioned that the only permissible contact for this procurement is the individual listed below. Failure to comply with this requirement can range from no contract to debarment from sales to any NYS Agency. The successful contractor shall be required to complete and submit documents relating to Vendor Responsibility, NYS Finance Law 139, NYS Tax Law Section 5-a, and
valid/current NYS Workman’s Compensation and Disability Forms. If you propose to submit a quote, it must be received by COB of the due date.
