Project Summary
Restoration of wetland areas along Douglas Road through the removal and replacement of invasive species with native plants. Project includes establishing wetland drainage channels and installing nearshore oyster castle wave attenuators. Furthermore, wetland areas and Development landward of the wetland comprises construction of a Live Timber Crib Wall and Revetment Toe along with installation of Brush Mattresses.
The purpose of this project is to restore and enhance an existing tidal marsh to a more functioning wetland to mitigate adverse impacts on wetland structure and function, improve coastal resiliency and minimize local flooding, promote marsh migration to mitigate effects of sea level rise, enhance horseshoe crab spawning habitat, provide substrate for oyster reef generation, create more diverse habitats for wildlife, and increase water quality by reducing impacts of nutrient loading from groundwater sources. This will be accomplished through the following proposed living shoreline components: Excavation of Phragmites australis with the rhizomes and replanting of intertidal and high marsh plants; Creation of a drainage channel through the restored marsh bounded by coir logs; Installation of oyster castles along the edge of the restored marsh and the seaward side of the eroded marsh; Cutting back the existing bank and removal of stone along the shorefront of Memorial Field flattening the slope to allow for marsh migration. The bottom of the regraded slope will be planted to tidal marsh plants and above to a native grass/wildflower buffer; Slope stabilization along the southern end of the project with brushmattress; Slope stabilization within the steep sloped mid-section with a Live Timber Crib Wall and stone toe, and wetland plantings on the flatter areas; The northern high-energy segment will be stabilized with a hybrid vegetated stone revetment, live stakes & salt shrubs.

Neither Owner nor Administrator will be responsible for any errors made by any Bidder as a result of the Bidder having used inaccurate and/or incomplete Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, if Bidder obtains its Bid Documents from sources other than the dedicated email address. Bidders are solely responsible for ensuring that they have received all addenda issued prior to submission of their Bid and the failure to acknowledge required addenda may result in rejection of the Bid as non-responsive.
