NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the following project in Division
One:
DA00708 – M/V Carteret Credit Dry Dock (CDD)
WBS Element: 16.401
The Date of Availability for this Contract is December 1, 2026.
The Completion Date for this Contract is April 30, 2027.
There is NO MBE/WBE Goal for this project.
Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime

Bid Opening will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 4, 2026.
Prospective Bidders shall utilize the Division One Conference Call Phone Number
(866) 590-5055 access code (2659015) to join the November 4, 2026 Virtual Bid Opening.
Prospective Bidders are encouraged to join the Bid Opening Conference Call approximately five
minutes prior to the Bid Opening, as the bids will be read promptly at 2:00 pm.
The work includes taking control of and dry docking the M/V Carteret Credit. Major tasks include a major overhaul/rebuild of two Caterpillar 3508 main engines, global davit inspection and maintenance, blast and painting of decks, hull, and superstructure, crop and renew steel on bulkhead, deck, and hull plates, zinc anode replacements, propeller and tailshaft inspections, rudder removals and inspections, sea chest and valve inspections, HVAC modification, main deck hatch maintenance and repair, sewage system cleaning and maintenance, and various other ferry maintenance items. The contract also includes shipyard services, startup, dock trials, and sea trials.
