NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the following project in Division
One:
DA00704 – Replacement of Bridge # 880018 on SR-1105 (Newlands Rd) over Second Creek in Tyrrell
County

The Date of Availability for this Contract is December 1, 2026.
The Completion Date for this Contract is June 30, 2027.
There is NO MBE/WBE Goal for this project.

Bid Opening will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 4, 2026.
Prospective Bidders shall utilize the Division One Conference Call Phone Number
(866) 590-5055 access code (2659015) to join the November 4, 2026 Virtual Bid Opening. Prospective
Bidders are encouraged to join the Bid Opening Conference Call approximately five minutes prior to
the Bid Opening, as the bids will be read promptly at 2:00 pm.
Replace the structurally deficient single-span bridge on SR-1105 over Second Creek at Station 14+33 with a single-span prestressed concrete cored-slab bridge, including removal of the existing structure, unclassified structure excavation, HP 12x53 steel piles, Class AA concrete, epoxy-coated reinforcing steel, bridge approach slabs, elastomeric bearings and vertical concrete barrier rail. Build roadway approaches over 0.156 miles with grading, aggregate base, asphalt base and surface courses, guardrail, drainage, subdrains, rip rap, water-line directional drilling and abandonment, work-zone traffic control with thermoplastic markings, and erosion-control items including silt fence, seeding and mulching. Perform work under intermediate timing for roadway and structure items and an in-water moratorium, with availability December 1, 2026 and completion June 30, 2027.
