The project involves replacing three bridges on SR 28: Bridge No. 72.7 over Quinn Creek (span 80',100',100' with 20° skew), Bridge No. 73.6 over Strong River (span 105',140',190',140',105'), and Bridge No. 77.6 over Tanyard Creek (one span of 122'-2"). Work includes clearing and grubbing, removal of existing bridges, asphalt pavement, guard rail, and signs; unclassified and borrow excavation; structure excavation; geotextile stabilization; topsoil, sodding, ditch liner, watering, insect pest control, concrete paved ditch, mowing, grassing, riprap for erosion control, fine milling of bituminous pavement, rumble strips, expansion joints, transverse grooving, reinforcing steel, various pipe culverts and end sections, guard rail, and traffic control devices. Environmental commitments include limiting in-stream work to between June 15 and February 15 to protect Gulf sturgeon and ringed map turtle habitat.
