Physician Services

Physicians shall provide comprehensive medical services to Veteran residents including evaluation and management for scheduled and acute encounters, resident charting, nursing facility rounds as needed and per regulations, periodic pertinent visits, timely medical orders and documentation, medication review, coordination of emergency care, hospital admission and transport to acute care, follow-up in acute settings, discharges and transfers with discharge summaries, death certificates, 24 hour/day 365 days per year on-call coverage with designated alternate coverage, supervision of medical care including assessment and care planning, and compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Veterans Affairs and long-term care requirements.
