Program participants will gill net for Invasive Carps (Silver Carp, Bighead Carp, Grass Carp, and Black Carp) in the Ohio River and its tributaries, including designated river pools and other approved fishing locations. Participants must provide all labor, materials, and equipment, have a helper, fish a minimum of four days per week (river and weather permitting), allow KDFWR observers onboard, submit weekly itemized invoices, complete monthly reports, and arrange equipment review with the KDFWR POC. All non-target species must be returned immediately to the water. Participants may sell harvested Invasive Carp at market value but are prohibited from seeking additional subsidies through federally funded programs.
