The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is soliciting bids to provide welding services to refit Building 20 at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility (MPCF) with new automated valves to heat the MLO Building (which houses around 100-150 minimum incarcerated individuals). MPCF is located at 1200 E Washington St., Mt Pleasant, IA. 52641.
The facility spans approximately 152 acres and is a minimum-security facility focused on re-entry, cognitive-behavioral programming, and community integration.
The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to complete the rework of steam reducing valves, associated piping, and actuated valves located in the basement of the dormitory. Work includes demolition and removal of existing steam pressure-reducing valves and piping, installation of a new steam PRV station, fabrication and installation of a new 4-inch steam header with six 2-inch threaded outlets, installation of a new 4-inch steam relief line, valve installation with unions and isolation valves, piping supports, water heater steam tie-in, steam backfeed re-integration, and testing and commissioning including pressure testing, leak testing, and operational testing.
