Harvesting of Merchantable Pine Timber
The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids for the harvesting of merchantable pine timber from an approximately 0.509 acre site located behind the Crooked Creek Fire Station at 158 Crooked Creek Drive, Eatonton, Georgia. The approximate harvest area is outlined in red in the image included in the bid package. All care should be given to the existing hardwoods on the tract to minimize any unnecessary damage to the hardwood trees on the property. The successful bidder is expected to offset the amount of their bid with the value of the merchantable timber.
Prospective bidders must obtain a bid package from the Putnam County Board of Commissioners via the county website:

Proposals must be submitted on the proposal form issued by Putnam County and contained in the bid package.
Proposals must be received by Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The proposals will be read at that time.

The successful bidder will harvest merchantable pine timber from a 0.509-acre site behind the Crooked Creek Fire Station at 158 Crooked Creek Drive, Eatonton, Georgia. All care must be given to existing hardwoods to minimize damage. The bidder must offset their bid amount with the value of the merchantable timber. The project must be substantially complete within 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays.
