The City of Calhoun is requesting sealed bids for asphalt resurfacing, stripping, and milling
of various city streets.
Work is as specified in the Bid Document and is to be done in accordance with current
GDOT standards and specifications. Bidders are required to carefully examine the
specifications contained in this bid document.
Questions regarding Project #LMIG 2026-09-08 will be accepted in writing only, to the City
of Calhoun Purchasing Agent, Sarah Wiggins, at swiggins@calhounga.gov . Responses will be
posted by addenda no later than 2:00 PM EST on September 30, 2026.
All bid forms must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent
(5%) of the amount of the bid.
The scope of work consists of resurfacing with asphalt on various city streets listed in the LMIG Project Report, including traffic control, recycled asphalt, bituminous tack, and traffic striping, all in accordance with 2023 GDOT standard specifications and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Specific roads include Hillcrest Dr, Woodrow St, Chandler St, Woodlawn Ave, College St, and Old Red Bud Rd for resurfacing, and Woodrow St, Chandler St, and Woodlawn Ave for milling. Work includes 1.5-inch thick asphalt overlay and 1.5-inch milling below the original gutter surface, with stop bars included in striping price.
