DEMOLITION AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The City of Manchester, Georgia, is accepting sealed bids from qualified and properly
licensed contractors for the demolition and replacement of sidewalks located within the
public right of way at the following locations:
Main Street – South Side: Beginning at the intersection of Broad Street and Main
Street to the intersection Second Avenue.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
• Obtaining all required permits and approvals, including any permits or approvals
required by the Georgia Department of Transportation, if applicable;
• Removal and demolition of the existing sidewalks, handicapped ramps, steps, and
existing handrails;
• Extraction of memorial stamped bricks without breakage and re-installing these
memorial bricks in the newly constructed sidewalks in the same location as their
original placement.
• Hauling and lawful disposal of all demolition debris;
• Grading, compaction, and base preparation;
• Installation and finishing of new concrete sidewalks using GDOT standards;
• Installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps;
• Installation of concrete ADA-compliant handicapped ramps as specified;
• Installation of aluminum handrails as specified;
• Restoration and cleanup of all disturbed areas; and
• Traffic and pedestrian control necessary to complete the work safely.
All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, Georgia
Department of Transportation standards, and current Americans with Disabilities Act
accessibility standards.
