REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
The Fitzgerald and Ben Hill County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority is requesting qualifications and proposals for the selection of an Engineering Firm to provide professional engineering services for the closure of the County's Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction & Demolition (C&D) landfill units. The project is funded through the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). Services will include, but are not limited to, site assessment, geotechnical investigations, surveying, regulatory coordination and permitting, engineering design, preparation of construction bid documents, construction administration and oversight, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), preparation of as-built drawings, post-closure documentation, and project closeout.
Selection of an Engineering Firm will be based on qualifications and experience with similar landfill closure projects. All contracts shall be subject to applicable GEFA requirements. Firms interested in submitting a proposal for this project are asked to contact Lindsay Ray at the Southern Georgia Regional Commission, 1937 Carlton Adams Drive, Valdosta, GA 31601, (229) 333-5277, to request the Request for Proposals (RFP), Statement of Qualifications Form, and the RFP scoring criteria.

Proposals mailed to or received at any location other than the above address will not be accepted. Proposals must be received at the above address no later than 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. No proposals will be accepted after this time and date. The Ben Hill County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive informalities in the proposal process.
