1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Savannah Airport Commission ("Airport") seeks qualified contractors to furnish,
register, install, configure, test, commission, and integrate forty (40) Vehicle Movement
Area Transmitters (VMATs), consisting of thirty-eight (38) operational units and two (2)
spare units, on designated Airport-owned vehicles operating within the Airport Movement
Area.
The contractor shall furnish, register, install, configure, test, commission, and integrate forty (40) VMATs (38 operational, 2 spare) on designated Airport-owned vehicles. Work includes equipment supply (VMAT units, GPS receivers, antennas, wiring harnesses, power supplies, connectors, mounting brackets, software licenses), vehicle verification and installation, system configuration, registration and regulatory coordination with FAA and other stakeholders, integration into the FAA Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) environment, testing and commissioning (power verification, GPS functionality, transmitter functionality, identifier verification, communications verification, operational performance testing, SAI integration verification), training for Airport personnel, and delivery of all documentation. The project is not complete until all VMATs are installed, registered, activated, tested, and integrated into the FAA SAI environment and accepted by the Airport.
