Department of EnergyIssuing agency·New York·via the SAM.gov Get Opportunities APIThis is a "Synopsis" for the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), which is a state-of-the-art scientific research facility at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) that operates continuously 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. NSLS-II includes a full-energy booster/injector that injects electrons at 3 GeV into a highly optimized electron synchrotron storage ring that is 792 meters in circumference at the electron beam centerline. The NSLS-II storage ring can accommodate up to 58 experimental beamlines.
The Photon Delivery System Components described in the Draft SOW, hereafter referred to as “the Equipment,” will be used as a vital part of the Quantitative Cellular Tomography (QCT) beamlines ensuring that the X-ray beam at the endstations meets the requirements of the scientific experiments to be performed.
The Contractor shall be responsible for the design, engineering, purchase of all materials, manufacturing, assembly, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of the Equipment. The work includes providing a Preliminary Design Review (PDR) report, a Final Design Review (FDR) report, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Factory Acceptance Testing, installation at BNL, commissioning without X-ray beam, and training for three BSA personnel. The Contractor must also supply all materials, tools, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, spare parts, and documentation including drawings, models, and operation/maintenance manuals.
