The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP), is soliciting Written Proposals under the NSF X-Labs Initiative for the AI for Physical Systems Topic. NSF seeks innovative, early stage platform technologies that advance intelligent, adaptive, and scalable AI systems operating in or interfacing with the physical world, including robotics, embodied systems, human robot interfaces, advanced sensing, and cyber physical systems. NSF anticipates making one or more Other Transaction (OT) awards under 42 U.S.C. § 19116.
NSF seeks proposals for early-stage platform technologies in AI for physical systems, including robotics, embodied systems, human-robot interfaces, advanced sensing, and cyber-physical systems. The program supports full-time R&D teams with milestone-based funding through phases: Phase 0 (9-12 months, up to $1,500,000), Phase 1 (24-36 months, up to $50,000,000 per year), and potential Phase 2. Proposals must describe a Mission, Technology Landscape, Outcomes, Senior/Key Personnel Qualifications, and Team Capabilities. The evaluation is a two-step process: Written Proposals, then invited Oral Proposal Packages and oral presentations.

One prequalification covers both — on this bid and the next.
A surety’s written statement that it expects to bond you up to a stated amount, subject to final underwriting. It’s what a GC or agency asks to see before they take your bid seriously — and the most common thing Propeller is asked for.
