The vacuum chamber is composed of a skeleton welded together by 5 rectangular hole frames with a solid base plate, closed by another 5 panels on the front, back, left, right and top. All parts shall be fabricated in accordance with good vacuum practice for high vacuum application (1.0x10-7 to 1.0x10-8 Torr), including removal of contamination, use of water-soluble cutting oils, washing with detergent and de-ionized water, and helium leak testing of the assembled chamber showing a total leak rate less than 2.0E-9 Torr-L/second. Fabricated components shall be packaged to protect sealing surfaces and prevent contamination. Materials include Aluminum 6061 and Stainless Steel 304, with electropolish surface finishing. The drawing package includes detailed specifications for multiple components such as chamber rings, tube adapters, top frames, front frames, side frames, top plates, front panels, side panels, base plates, and the assembled frame.
