Bids shall be prepared in accordance with the IFB and Standard Form 114 (Sale of Government Property -- Bid and Award).
Bids are due no later than 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, October 8, 2026, and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Commanding Officer, Attention: Breakroom Timber Sale, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, Building 2516, Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522.
Sealed bids will be received for the purchase and removal of approximately 877 trees estimated to contain 281,190 board feet computed according to Doyle Log Scale to be harvested from approximately 111 acres within the boundaries of Naval Weapons Station Crane, Crane, Indiana. Bids will be opened publicly at 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, October 8, 2026, and read at the office of NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, 300 Highway 361, Building 2516, Conference Room “B” at Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522. This is a firm-fixed price lump sum/per unit sale. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and strongly encouraged. All work in this contract shall be completed two (2) years from the date of award.

The work includes cutting and harvesting designated trees within individual unit areas. The Purchaser must furnish all labor, materials and/or equipment necessary for cutting, loading, removal and subsequent ownership of the timber. The contract also requires compliance with performance specifications covering cutting and utilization, removal of temporary facilities, slash disposal, protection of streams and soil, pre-harvest conference, logging operations, access points, log loading decks, tree paint and equipment, scaling, and emergency removal of timber. The Purchaser must also comply with government safety requirements including an Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analysis, and provision of a Site Safety and Health Officer.
