The contractor shall furnish a minimum of five credentialed key personnel, four board-certified perfusionists and one certified autotransfusionist, to provide 10,400 hours per year of onsite care during VA business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. plus 24/7 on-call coverage. Work includes preparation, operation and maintenance of VA-owned heart-lung machines, autotransfusion pumps, intra-aortic balloon pumps and centrifugal ventricular assist devices, support for cardiothoracic bypass and valve cases, balloon pump and ECMO support, daily OR schedule review, supply assurance, documentation in the VA electronic health record including SF-518 transfusion records, and administrative, training and quality activities.
