IAW Attachment 1 - Statement of Work:
This project is for replacing the air conditioning (AC) units in the nematology lab. The AC units are located for the Tropical Plant Genetic Resources and Disease Research Unit (TPGRDRU) at 928 Stainback Highway in Hilo, Hawaii. These AC units will replace current units which are not operational and/or are covered with mold and mildew from the standing humidity.
This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 238220 – Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors The small business size standard is $19M. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
The contractor shall provide all necessary services, labor, equipment and materials to complete the scope of work including: remove and dispose of 8 current AC units; seal and frame hole for 2 units that will no longer be used; set foundation for split AC unit base (concrete, minimum 3,000 PSI, 4 inches thick, extend 6" beyond unit footprint, reinforced with welded wire mesh); install 4 wall units (government-furnished) at ends of building with interior and exterior trim, electrical plugs and connection to breaker panel, insulated for heat and sound and sealed; provide a 36,000 BTU two-head ductless mini-split system (cooling only, 220V), modify breaker as needed, conceal lines with covers; site cleanup; provide a 1-year warranty.
