Packing and Crating Services

The contractor will furnish all personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, services, and materials for preparation of personal property of DoD personnel for shipment, drayage, and storage through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). Work includes premove surveys; weighing on certified scales with weight ticket preparation; packing, loading, and containerization of household goods and unaccompanied baggage in Government-owned and contractor-furnished containers; tagging, inventorying, and preparation of packing lists; appliance servicing and unservicing; exterior container marking with stenciling; security sealing with accountable seals; outbound documentation and movement (PPGBL/BL or TCMD preparation); inbound receiving and notification; drayage from terminals to residences; decontainerization and unpacking at residences; placement of goods in rooms as directed; assembly of disassembled articles; unservicing of appliances; removal of all empty containers, packing materials, and debris from residences; and storage of containerized articles when ordered. The contractor must comply with Government-furnished container control requirements, maintain facilities meeting minimum standards, provide proof of cargo and liability insurance, possess current SMO certification, and perform services within specified geographic areas of performance.
