Under RCW 19.138.140, a seller of travel who holds customer funds may file a surety bond with the Department of Licensing in lieu of a trust account, in an amount set by rule of not less than $10,000 nor more than $50,000 based on the seller's prior-year gross income from Washington residents. The bond runs to the State of Washington for the benefit of any person who suffers monetary loss from a violation of chapter 19.138 RCW.
