Section 4712.06 of the Revised Code is titled 'Surety bond.' It requires a credit services organization to obtain a bond in the amount of fifty thousand dollars and to file a copy with the division of financial institutions. The bond runs in favor of any person, and of the state for the benefit of any person, injured by a violation of sections 4712.01 to 4712.14 of the Revised Code, and must be maintained and in effect for at least two years after the date the organization ceases to conduct business in Ohio. The surety is liable only for damages awarded, not punitive damages, and its aggregate liability to all injured persons cannot exceed the amount of the bond.
