Rockville City Code § 5-141 requires anyone who provides electrical services in the City to hold a valid, corresponding Maryland electrician license under Title 6 of the Business Occupations and Professions Article of the Maryland Annotated Code; the City's earlier electrician bond ordinance (former §§ 5-142—5-146) was repealed in 2024 when Maryland shifted electrician licensing to the state. Maryland law (Md. Code, Bus. Occ. & Prof. § 6-604) still allows a local jurisdiction to require a bond and lets an electrician's state-mandated $300,000 liability / $100,000 property-damage insurance satisfy it instead.
