For Arizona public works, A.R.S. § 34-201 requires every bid to be accompanied by bid security — a certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond for 10% of the bid amount. Federal construction over $100,000 requires bid security under the Miller Act — at least 20% of the bid, capped at $3 million (FAR 28.101-2).
